A simple distro chooser - I find this distro chooser the best because it is the only one that actually recommended Slackware as my first choice, unlike the others. Still, I recommend trying as many distros as possible and choosing the best one for you. Alien's Easy Firewall Generator for IPTables - Generates basic rc.firewall for use with Slackware. + Very Useful !

Programming and Scripting

Python Programming Language -- Official Website - A great language, a language of the future. + Contains lots of free tutorials for learning python.

PyPy - "The PyPy project aims at producing a flexible and fast Python implementation." As of now, does not fully support Python 2.5. + Speeds up execution of python code.

Psyco - Only real problem with python is slower execution speed. "Psyco is a Python extension module which can massively speed up the execution of any Python code... 2x to 100x speed-ups, typically 4x, with an unmodified Python interpreter and unmodified source code, just a dynamically loadable C extension module." Psyco is no longer developed, only maintained. The devs have moved to developing PyPy. + I use it. Speeds up execution of python code.

Allegro - A game programming library. I think it's easier to use than SDL, and it has more online tutorials. + Game programming library.

GCC online documentation - The official GCC manuals. Very useful if you're a Linux programmer, or aiming to become one. + GCC docs.
